PFAS and total fluorine analysis in your substances

Per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) have come into focus internationally due to their widespread presence in the environment.

To drastically reduce the release of PFAS into the environment, there are already existing regulations of individual substances in the EU REACH Regulation, EU POP Regulation and the international Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants.

In addition, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) published a restriction proposal on the manufacture, use and placing on the market (including import) of the entire group of substances (at least 10,000 PFAS) in early 2023.

You want to be sure that your products do not contain PFAS and that existing and new restrictions are respected?

a) PFAS analysis in your products (solids and aqueous matrices)

Analysis for the determination of specific PFAS: We offer quantitative determination of 39 specific per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in various matrices using LC-MS/MS.
The method is validated according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and is characterized by high selectivity and sensitivity. A complete list of analyzable PFAS can be found below.

Additional PFAS can be integrated into the method upon request. We will be happy to provide you with information on the limits of quantification (LOQs) upon request.

This means you can be sure about any possible restrictions on PFAS in your substances (including mixtures and products). With our analysis data, you can make informed decisions when it comes to assessing the risks of your products and supply chains.

Get in touch! We look forward to hearing from you.

b) PFAS analysis in aqueous environmental matrices (wastewater, groundwater, leachate, surface water)

Our specialization in environmental analysis lies in the precise analysis of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) in water samples, including wastewater, groundwater, leachate, and surface water.

With many years of experience and state-of-the-art analytical technology, we deliver reliable results. We adhere to existing restrictions, such as the Federal Environment Ministry’s guidelines for the assessment of PFAS, and actively participate in the development of new analytical methods within the framework of committee work.

Our measurements are carried out in accordance with DIN 38407-42 (within the scope of our flexible accreditation according to DIN EN ISO 17025) and include the determination of up to 45 components. A complete list of analyzable PFAS can be found below.

Additional PFAS can be integrated into the method upon request.

By using HPLC-MS/MS technology in conjunction with SPE (solid phase extraction), we achieve high selectivity and low detection limits. This enables us to precisely identify and quantify the smallest traces of PFAS in aqueous environmental matrices.

Our approach is based on current regulatory requirements and the needs of our customers. We support you in identifying potential environmental hazards and taking appropriate measures.

Trust our expertise and experience for comprehensive PFAS analysis in your water samples.

c) Total fluorine analysis in products, water, and wastewater

Analysis for the determination of total fluorine: This is based on the limits of the published ECHA restriction proposal. Benefit from our expertise in analysis by Combustion Ion Chromatography (CIC) also for solids such as polymers.
